Join Fr. Declan this Lent on a prayerful pilgrimage to Marytown—the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe. This pilgrimage site and sacred space in Libertyville, Illinois is a ministry of the Conventual Franciscan Friars where they live together in community according to the ideals of Saint Francis. The Shrine is set on 15 acres of beautiful land. At the center of Marytown is the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, considered one of the most beautiful pilgrimage sites in the nation. It is referred to as the “Third City of the Immaculate” modeled after the evangelization centers created by Kolbe at Niepokalanów, Poland and Nagasaki, Japan.

Our day will include an introduction talk by a friar, prayer time, lunch and talks by Fr. Declan & Katherine. We will go next door for a tour of Mundelein Seminary (Fr. Declan’s Alma Mater) where we will have a tour of the gorgeous grounds and Mass at 4pm.

The cost is $150 per person. This includes transportation, tours, tips and a hot lunch at the seminary.

Other Details:  We will depart from SJE at 8 am. We hope to be back at 6:30pm.  This is a wonderful way to spend a day with the Lord this Lent.
