St. Jude

Join Fr. Jacob McDaniel on a one day pilgrimage to several important Catholic sites!

First we will visit Marytown—the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe. This sacred space in Libertyville, Illinois is a ministry of the Conventual Franciscan Friars where they live together in community according to the ideals of St. Francis. The Shrine is set on 15 acres of beautiful land. At the center of Marytown is the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, considered one of the most beautiful pilgrimage sites in the nation. It is referred to as the “Third City of the Immaculate” modeled after the centers created by Kolbe at Niepokalanów, Poland and Nagasaki, Japan. We will have a tour of the Holocaust Museum, prayer time & shopping in the huge gift shop.

Our next stop will be for lunch on your own at the fun and lively Time Out Market where you will find many interesting food options. From here it is off to St. Mary of the Angels in Chicago. At this breathtaking church you will have time for prayer and will learn the fascinating history behind this parish. Our last stop will be at Holy Angels Cathedral in Gary for a private Mass. The Cathedral has been designated a Jubilee Church with a plenary indulgence for visiting!

Other Details: We will depart St. Teresa of Avila in Valparaiso at 7am. We will return at approximately 6pm. Fr. Jacob will lead us in prayer as we travel. The cost is $150 per person. Come refresh your soul this Spring! Spots are limited.
