Join Fr. Declan this Lent on a prayerful pilgrimage to Marytown—the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe.  This pilgrimage site and sacred space in Libertyville, Illinois is a ministry of the Conventual Franciscan Friars where they live together in community according to the ideals of Saint Francis. The Shrine includes a Retreat House, Conference Center, Gift Shop, Educational Holocaust exhibit, relics of St. Maximilian and several outdoor shrines, all set on 15 acres of beautiful land. At the center of Marytown is the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, considered one of the most beautiful pilgrimage sites in the nation. It is referred to as the “Third City of the Immaculate” modeled after the evangelization centers created by Kolbe at Niepokalanów, Poland and Nagasaki, Japan.

Our visit here will include a tour, prayer time, lunch and talks by Fr. Declan & Katherine.  After our visit here we will go next door for a tour of Mundelein Seminary (Fr. Declan’s Alma Mater) where we will have a tour of the gorgeous grounds and Mass at 4pm.

Once we return to SJE you are invited for an optional Mexican dinner at Sante Fe Restaurant in Dyer!  The cost is $165 per person. This includes a transportation, tours, tips and a hot lunch at Marytown. Dinner will be $25 extra per person (choose below in the registration form).

Other Details:  We will depart from SJE at 8 am. We hope to be back at 6:30pm.  This is a wonderful way to spend a day with the Lord this Lent. Spots are limited and the trip will fill quickly. Register today!
