Day 1 - Thursday, January 13

Depart for your flight to Panama City, Panama (PTY). Flight recommendations will be provided at a later date. Panama is in the same time zone as much of the United States, making travel especially convenient. A direct flight is only about five hours.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel to freshen up before celebrating Mass, enjoying a group meeting and sharing our welcome dinner together.

Day 2 - Friday, January 14

After breakfast at the hotel, we will board our bus and travel to the most important church in Panama: the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Santa María la Antigua. Here we will celebrate Mass together.

Following our visit, we will head to the world-famous Panama Canal. Panama is a small country that plays an enormous role in global commerce. The Panama Canal is an engineering marvel and one of the most strategic waterways in the world, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans across 51 miles. The canal allows ships to avoid the dangerous journey around Cape Horn, dramatically reducing travel time for global trade. Nearly 6% of the world’s maritime commerce passes through the canal annually, serving more than 150 nations and approximately 14,000 ships each year.

At the Miraflores Visitor Center, we will embark on an unforgettable experience exploring the history, operation and significance of this iconic waterway. Through immersive exhibits and live narration, we will gain a deeper appreciation for this extraordinary feat of engineering. Miraflores Locks, one of the canal’s original structures dating back to 1914, awaits us at the Pacific entrance of the canal.

After our visit, we will travel to the Fuerte Amador Cruise Port and board the luxurious Azamara Quest cruise ship, our home for the next 10 nights.
